The Golden Crown Hotel

Every single staff member is amazing at this hotel. A special shout out to Sumith who cleaned our room every day. The room was absolutely immaculate. Sumith was pleasant, professional and courteous. He made the most amazing animals out of our towels and it was a real highlight of our stay. Another shout out to Wjekoon from the restaurant - he makes fantastic coffee and as Australian's, we like our flat whites. Nothing was ever too much trouble and on our last day the staff had made up a romantic table for us right next to the pool. We will definitely be back and would prefer to never stay anywhere else.

We stayed at the Golden Crown for 18 days. We chose this hotel as a base to explore the sights around Kandy. The hotel is a 30 minutes walk from the center of Kandy and Kandy Lake. The view from the room is very pretty, with hills covered by lush topical vegetation. The hotel is spacious and comfortable with an infinity pool and a well-equipped gym. The restaurant is spacious and beautiful, and it provides with a buffet breakfast as well as a buffet dinner. Food is great and varied, with a wide a selection of Sri Lankan, Indian and international food. In view of the length of our stay, we benefitted from an upgrade to a bigger room. The room was spacious and comfortable with a balcony The cleaning team was very good, and the best we have experienced in our stays in different hotels in South East Asia. Our stay at the Golden Crowne would not have been the same without Tharanga, from the hotel management, who was professional, attentive, and helpful. My wife was sick and he provided support and invaluable help, scheduling a visit to a local hospital to see a doctor and providing for a driver to take us there. He also advised and helped in organizing our visits to the most interesting sights around Kandy. Since we stayed in The Goden Crown hotel for so long, Elsworth, the General Manager, organised a beautiful and delicious farewell dinner for us on the hotel rooftop, where Ravi attended to our service. We highly recommend this hotel where we felt at home and well taken care of.

Everything. Absolutely perfect 5* hotel in the heart of Kandy. Staff were all fantastic - especially Madusanka Housekeeping Supervisor and Upul Room Attendant who decorated outer room so perfectly for my birthday celebration
